Meet people prepared to show you the best of Singapore!
It is an Asian household, you are expected to observe it, dress conservatively, shoes are taken off within the apartment, keep yourself clean and pickup after yourself, keep it quiet, no alcohol/smoking or partying About Accomodation : You will sleep in the living room, a much cooler place, its a couch bed The apartment is incredibly tiny not much space to move around, get outta the house and travel around singapore, there are tons to do. For Company : I wont have time to show you around, mostly you will be left on your own to wander around, so do make sure you organise your own way around or get into the singapore group activities page. Prefer : Females only. Sorry Guys, unless you like to change your gender, or referred by some one else I know on CS Non-smoking and non-alcoholic environment : you can't smoke outside the premises either. Host days : Any day! Weekdays and weekends whenever. Max days stay : 3 days. Internet access available : bring your own laptop and plug away. sorry you can't use my computer. suggest you visit a internet cafe. Transport Cost Public Transportation cost on average us-4 a day, us.60 per ride. Cab from airport to my place = approx us-15 (takes 15-20mins) Train from airport = us3 (takes 1hour or more) Cab from international train station = don't take it if you can. use the bus and train Public transportation ends about midnight, you might have to take the expensive taxi cabs to my place after that. During the weekends, there's the public night bus that runs to 5am, that cost us per ride, takes you right up to my place with a 5min walk. Food and necessities : 5 mins to the suburban mall and very close to all the eating places, some open 24hours.
I'm currently staying in the Northern part of Singapore (Yishun to be specific) with my parents and my younger brother. My place is about 10 mins away from the train station, which makes travelling pretty convenient. It only takes about 20 mins to travel to Orchard and is basically a nice and safe neighbourhood, with parks, reservior, food places, and gym and a running track nearby~~ My couch is just a simple sofa bed near the living room. You may not have 100% privacy because of where the bed is located, but it will certainly be a comfortable and clean experience!! I try to host as often as my schedule allows me to. If you are a girl, there's a high probability that I'd be able to host you. However, if you're a guy, I'd first have to seek my parent's approval before agreeing (It'd be good if you have a detailed profile in this case). Still, there are times when my couch is subjected to availability. When I get really busy at school, I'd prefer not to host since i won't get to be home most of the time. I'd rather host when I have more time to interact with my guests and show them around :) My family wakes up pretty early, and goes to bed pretty early as well. This just means that making lotsa noise at night is a no-no for my family. Apart from this, surfers need not worry about not being able to stay out late. Being a student and a night person myself, arrangements can be made if one wishes to stay out late :)I may or may not be able to show you around because of my busy schedule, but I'll definately try my very best to help:)
My husband and I live in Tanjong Pagar just south of Chinatown. Oddly enough, it's the 'gay' area of town, as Duxton Hill is just outside our doors. You wouldn't know it unless someone told you. It's very central to most things and a five minute walk to the East-West MRT or 7 minute walk to the North-East MRT towards Orchard Road. There are bus routes very close by as well. We don't have a spare bedroom, but we have a living room space. I plan on buying a double size roll out bed from Ikea soon. Our apartment is on the 11th floor of a secure building. At night when you look out the windows you think you're on the set of the movie 'Blade Runner' with all of the skyscrapers lit up. There is a nice swimming pool on the 6th floor and it's usually empty during the week apart from the occasional bird that stops by for a drink. You are welcome to use our kitchen, but I'm sure you won't want to because you MUST go out and experience all the wonderful foods that Singapore has to offer!
Couch Available: Coffee or a drink Preferred Gender: Any Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: No We have a study room with a couch that they can crash on. The couch is in one of my rooms, sleeps one person comfortably. I live up north of Singapore, very near the MRT station. I have 5 hamsters who live in 3 separate cages. They are tiny and clean except the humongous Syrian one and the only noise they make is if they mate which is often. PS: Hamsters do not reflect the state of the owner. I live with 3 others in the house. We have 4 bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. There is nothing much to do in Singapore so my couch is perfect for 1-2 days before you move on to explore Malaysia which is barely half an hour away from my place. The photo is of my mum and dad in our living room when it is less messy than normal. I'm good to show you around the city and places I love. I sleep at crazy times.
:) Large room. Enough floor space for... party of 5 or 6 even. Quiet place on eastern tip of Singapore (Pasir Ris). Have the largest, longest parks here, for cycling, rollerblading, etc. Beach is a thin sliver, if you call that a beach; true in all of Singapore. Water sports not here, but nearby in East Coast (a place just 20 minutes from the eastern tip). Just in case you don't know Singapore (no, we don't eat people here), when I say eastern tip, I still mean Singapore city. This is a small island! By USA standards, my place would be a busy suburb (quiet by Singapore standards), but has easy public transport to town in 30 minutes or less. Oh heck, the whole Singapore is a suburb anyway. My place is clean, sparse. So you won't have to worry about knocking over expensive antiques or the like. Also, we are 10 minutes away from Changi international airport b via taxi or public transport regardless!
I lived in the north east side of singapore ( Sengkang ), with my family members. I have an parrot , which only screams and shout when he is hungry ! At usual time he is quite nice uh! Currently, i am not able to provide an couch, but i am more than willing to have a meet up session to chill and have meals together ! Here's something more about Sengkang, the place i had been living since young. Sengkang is considered as a new town in singapore . There's a church here of a history of more than at least 30 - 40 years ; a shopping mall just 5 minutes walking distance from my house. Something nice about my area will be the new landmark, the waterpath way near my place. I enjoyed riding my bicycle down the pathway, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and looking at the beautiful scenery ! I'm now serving my national service, thus will only be able to meet up on weekends.
Like anyone would want to come to expensive and tiny Singapore. My bed is a double bed, meaning to say that there is a pull-out bed underneath the main one. So that will be where guests will sleep. The pull-out bed is an exact replica of the bed I sleep on. That naturally means that they'll be sharing my room with me, and that I can only host one freeloader at a time. I live just slightly less than half an hour from Orchard, which is the capital of glamour and fun-filled experiences in this tiny country (at least that's what people say. God I sound like an advertisement). In a town called Hougang. I cohabit with mom dad and my sister who is three years my senior, and who happens to be a nurse (Lucky you?), in a small three bedroom flat. Hosting availability as well as the duration of the stay is dependent on periods in the year, so that can be discussed further upon your interest and request.
Live in small flat with a spare space when someone is visiting for 2 to 3days - should be quite comfortable to rest, although, it may not be absolutely quiet as family members love to watch TV. Also, it is like a semi attic space, so if you are kind not comfortable with some height, then this may not be the right space. You could consider this a bonus that the man of the house (my Dad) loves t cook and you are most welcome to try his cooking :) The location is pretty centralised, eay to get around Singapore, with direct bus from the airport. Transportation is convenient. The place is VERY nearby food stalls, shops, a mall, cinema and a pretty cool library. There are 2 elderly folks at home, friendly folks. They do not speak English, so if you intend to converse with them when I am not around, you may want to pick up some Mandarin?
Cozy room with a comfortable bed in a 2 bedroom apartment near the university in Clementi town. It is 5 minutes by bus to Clementi station and 20 minutes by train to the centre of Singapore. It is 5 minutes walk to the local shops, restaurants. Bus stop is across the street. You may use the kitchen while you are here. There are plenty that you can use and you will have to buy your own food. I am a professional Chinese lady in 30's. I am easy going and would be very willing to help you around Singapore - the ins and outs. I'll consider hosting anyone for up to a week, as long as you respect our property and space eg if you smoke, you do it outside...and definitely no drugs! I've only got one spare bed so I can only host one person at a time, or maybe a couple (if you're close!).Look forward to meeting you.
