If the population size gets any bigger, Japanese will soon have to be living on boats offshore. Apartments here are usually meant for one person (or two very small Asians) so I can only offer you a space on the floor (I sleep on a futon here, sorry...no bed!). Kofu is a small, sleepy and peaceful city (it's really more like a 'town'). You'll have to depend on your loyal feet to go anywhere because the buses here are irregular and are not as extensive as in Tokyo. I have a simple bike which you can borrow though. But you've got to be really careful on the road (Japan is infamous for having two vehicles squeezed in a single lane trying to outdo one another) cause I got hit by a driver once. He sped off, I'm still alive, the rest is history.
